what fills our time while waiting...

news in the adoption world is somewhat uncertain and i'm not feeling all that enthusiastic about it right now, so i'm currently delaying any posts on that front. so what the in the world do we do while waiting anyway... quite a bit actually.

hair... i do hair for miss kiya. which also includes a much needed break at nearly the halfway mark. one of us might be a bit more tired than the other... i'm not sure though.
khalid gets a little crazy with the camera, convincing me to get up and resume hair.

i tried to convince her to rock the half braided and beaded / half afro puff head, but she simply laughed at the very idea. i still think she could pull it off.

to motivate me to finish her hair on a friday night after her brothers go to bed, she did let me choose the bead color combos, so she is paying attention to the world around her after all! [grins]

she either really likes her hair, or we're both tired and ready for bed...

cayden lost his first tooth! imagine the little pitter patter of tiny 7 year old feet walking across your floor early in the morning, and then feeling something wet on your face. guess what that is? it's a tooth on your FACE! that's how i woke up one morning earlier this week.

we took a super fun trip to the park with all of the kids and my nieces! i love these girls... they made me the best "cake of love" i ever could have asked for (cherry chip, chocolate icing, and strawberries for the win).

grandma and grandpa visited, and with their visit came great challenges. boys against girls and such... of course! i was the judge and grandpa was the "watcher". grandma raced papa, khalid and cayden. ready... set...

go!

they are off and running full steam ahead!

the winner is pretty clear, and it comes as no surprise to most of us. rock on dude.

second place goes to cayden and his crazy fast feet (also no surprise). look at that victory face!

cay and i played hangman... he totally got me with that second one. guess what the "word" is... go on, just try! it's "abc". who knew? he flushed me down the toilet. and my death eyes are a lovely touch.

there was some serious mario kart racing... check out grandma's face!

cay loves his grandpa super big bunches... i love the squished by a kiss face.

cayden starts t-ball this week! new baseball cleats were in order. he's been breaking them in, starting in the store on their "track" that raced through the aisles of shoes and clothes. he totally beat papa, as i knew he would. if i were a betting girl, i'd pick cay every time.

what else do we do while waiting? personally, i keep my trains close. always.
